This is the final Activity of the Advocacy module with Thomas Strodtbeck.
In this activity, you will examine how to measure the impact of advocacy. You will also look at examples of advocacy initiatives from around the world π
Remember, you don't have to reinvent the wheel! Study the examples closely π§ What catches your attention? Do any examples sound like things you could do for your accelerator program?
There are abundant resources about advocacy on the internet. Start by exploring some of these, chosen by Thomas Strodtbeck:
Some great examples of actions within an advocacy campaign
Annual report of Tech Nation UK, an advocacy organization for startups and scaleups in the UK
Street Civics' Three theories of (social media) impact and 7 classic examples of advocacy
Now you have a grasp on the basics. It's time to put your knowledge into practice πͺπ½
Decide how advocacy fits into your accelerator's overall communications strategy.
Set 3 Advocacy Goals: integrate advocacy into the communications and operational strategy of the accelerator. Make sure you use SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound)!
Use the worksheet from the previous two activities to guide your strategy.
